Consultation session
A free initial consultation session will be made at a convenient time. During this visit an agreement/contract will be read and signed detailing responsibilities and agreed procedures.
Solo Dog Walks
Dogs should not have been fed for an hour before they are picked up for their walk. Aggressive dogs and restricted breeds will not be accepted. Solo dog walks may include both road and off-road walking. Dogs should be able to complete a minimum 45 minute walk without difficulty. Dogs will only be off lead with prior written consent (see Off Lead Walking section).
Group Dog Walks
Dogs should not have been fed for an hour before they are picked up for their walk. In-season bitches, intact males, reactive or aggressive dogs and restricted breeds will not be accepted. Dog walks may include both road and off-road walking. Dogs should be able to complete a minimum 45 minute walk without difficulty. Dogs will only be off lead with prior written consent (see Off Lead Walking section). Maximum of 4 dogs on a group walk.
Toilet Break Visits
Barks and Rec Dog Walking is not responsible for mess left in house prior to arrival. Appropriate toilet area must be available - walk will not be provided.
Puppy Visits
Walks not available for puppies that have not completed a full course of vaccinations.
Golden Oldie Dog Visits
Barks and Rec Dog Walking is not responsible for mess left in house prior to arrival.
Cat Visits
Barks and Rec Dog Walking is not responsible for mess left in house prior to arrival. If feeding required, owner must leave ample food provisions. If litter tray changing required, owner must leave ample cat litter, bin bags etc.
Your dog
Owners are responsible for ensuring that their dog(s) are up to date with their yearly vaccines, flea and tick treatments and wormed on a regular basis. While out of the house, your dog should also wear an identification tag with your phone number on (this is a legal requirement).
Owners are responsible for disclosing any behavioural problems or tendencies that the dog(s) may suffer from, including aggression, worrying other animals (including livestock) and excessive pulling on the lead. Failure to disclose information may result in termination of contract. Where possible Barks and Rec Dog Walking will attempt to accommodate, such as through the use of solo walks.
In the event of an emergency, the Owner will be contacted as soon as possible, so please provide a number which can be easily reached. If the owner cannot be contacted directly, please provide an alternative contact number for emergencies. If your dog(s) require immediate veterinary/medical attention and the owner or alternative cannot be reached, Barks and Rec Dog Walking will make necessary arrangements that we believe are in the best interests of your dog. Owners are responsible for any fees that Barks and Rec Dog Walking incurs.
Owners are responsible for any loss or damage that your dog(s) may cause whilst under the care of Barks and Rec Dog Walking.
In the interests of public safety, any dog which behaves in a manner which Barks and Rec Dog Walking believes to be a direct risk to the public, other animals or the walker will not be offered any services. Any services provided are not to be used as a substitute for boarding/kennelling your dog or cat.
Vet Bills
Barks and Rec Dog Walking are not liable for any vet bills and 3rd party claims.
Cancellations
Owners providing notice of cancellation of services with 48 hours notice shall be provided a full refund. Cancellations should be made by telephone. Failure to provide notice will result in a full charge.
If Barks and Rec Dog Walking fails to attend or cancels a booked session, a full refund shall be provided.
Insurance
Barks and Rec Dog Walking is fully insured with Pet Business Insurance, Direct Line Business insurance and has public liability insurance. It is strongly recommended that your own dog(s) are also insured.
Offers
Any offers can be withdrawn at any time without notice and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.
Block booking offer is an introductory offer and can only be used on the first block booking – only redeemable once. Free walk excludes weekends and bank holidays. Offer per individual dog.
Referral offer – free walk excludes weekends and bank holidays. Free walks subject to successful block booking of referred party and availability.
Off Lead Walking
Any dog that has been agreed to walk off lead should be able to return upon command. Written consent is required to allow dogs off lead.
Payments
All payments should be made in advance. Barks and Rec Dog Walking accepts bank transfers (preferred method) and cash. Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of agreement/contract.
Prices
Barks and Rec Dog Walking reserves the right to change advertised prices. Existing customers will be provided with 14 days notice in writing of any changes in prices. All prices currently displayed on the website are up to date.
Allergies
Please make us aware if your dog suffers from any allergies.
Termination of Service
If you wish to terminate your agreement with Barks and Rec Dog Walking, please provide notice in writing/via email. Barks and Rec Dog Walking reserves the right to cancel a service or booking at any time.
